Sam grew up in Troy Ohio. He came to the Philippines for a vacation in 2005 and joined a reality TV show. He instantly became a celebrity and heartthrob when the show ended in the same year. Folded and Hung’s 2009 Holiday Collection for Men is having a royal moment. It’s bashfully simple but mysterious. An enchanting collection of everything old that is made new, not by mere reintroduction but by the uncanny fashion trend that emphasizes a relationship between old and new, classy and casual, lightweight and layers and clean cuts. Clothing which is as versatile in the office as it is in a bar, at a sports stadium or on that special date. General mood is clean, sophisticated fashion, clean cut, kind of preppy but more subdued and understated. Just perfect for Sam’s first photo shoot campaign for the brand.
The concept of the shoot turned to the English aristocracy for inspiration. Suggestively romantic and enchanting just like those in romantic novels. A gorgeous young aristocrat tending the horses in the stables dressed casually in black stylish riding boots over semi skin tight low rise jeans that shows off the lean and sexy built of the FH man. It’s Folded and Hung’s take on a classic noble hunting outfit. Sam successfully exudes the kind of man who gets dressed in a blink of an eye but always looks gorgeous without effort.
The Color palette for tops is dominated by blacks, whites, and grey that tends toward the dark tones. The fit is slim and the overall look is clean and fresh. Drummer boy inspired patterns, military tabs across the chest, shoulders and sleeves are striking accents on shirts and touches of royal blue, maroon, red and navy add visual interest to the collection. Shirt material is made of high density cotton that is tightly knitted for that luxe texture and feel. Double chest pockets and thin collars and plackets are military signatures of the collection. Faux print medals and drummer boy patterns on tees are fresh and youthful but look distinctively rich and elegant. Pants are made of textured twill with a touch of stretch for comfort and style. Waistbands and pocket details on slit scoop and slash pockets with eye candy buttons are statements on their own. Color tones are kept conservative with grays, black and a few browns.
